Generics: Diclofenac Diethylamine 2%
Used For: Pain, inflammation, muscle and joint pain
Drug Class: Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) – Topical
Voltral Emulgel 2% contains diclofenac, a topical NSAID that reduces inflammation and pain by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme, which decreases the production of prostaglandins—chemicals responsible for pain and swelling. The Emulgel formulation allows better absorption into the skin.
Apply 2–4 grams of gel to the affected area 3–4 times a day
Gently rub into the skin until fully absorbed
Wash hands after application unless treating the hands
Common:
Skin irritation, redness, or dryness
Rash or itching
Rare:
Allergic reactions (hives, swelling, difficulty breathing)
Photosensitivity (sensitivity to sunlight)
While topical use limits systemic absorption, caution is advised when using with:
Other NSAIDs (oral or topical)
Blood thinners (e.g., warfarin)
Corticosteroids
Avoid applying on broken skin or with other topical treatments on the same site.
Voltral Emulgel 2% is used for the local relief of pain and inflammation in:
Muscular aches and back pain
