Tylenol contains acetaminophen, which works centrally in the brain to reduce fever and relieve pain. It is believed to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system and activate serotonergic pathways, helping reduce the sensation of pain and regulate body temperature.
Dosage:
Adults: 500mg – 1000mg every 4–6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 4000mg per day.
Children: 10–15 mg/kg every 4–6 hours, not exceeding 5 doses in 24 hours.

Side Effects:
Common: Generally well tolerated.
Rare: Skin rash, allergic reactions.
Serious (overdose or prolonged use): Liver damage, acute liver failure.
Drug Interactions:
Warfarin: May increase bleeding risk with prolonged use.

Other acetaminophen products: May cause overdose if combined.

Warning 1: Overdose can cause severe liver damage and may be life-threatening.
Warning 2: Long-term high-dose use may increase bleeding risk when combined with anticoagulants.
Warning 3: Use with caution in malnourished patients or chronic alcohol users.
Considered safe in pregnancy when used in recommended doses.
Small amounts may pass into breast milk but generally safe during breastfeeding. Always seek medical advice before extended use.
