How It Works

Tramal Plus combines two pain-relieving agents:

  • Tramadol: Alters how your body senses pain by acting on opioid receptors and inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin.

  • Paracetamol (Acetaminophen): Reduces fever and pain by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the brain.

Tramal Plus Usage and Safety

Dosage

  • Usually 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours as needed

  • Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours

  • Always follow your doctor’s instructions strictly


Side Effects

Common Side Effects

  • Nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation

Serious Side Effects

  • Respiratory depression, dependence/addiction, liver damage (with overdose), seizures, serotonin syndrome (especially with other serotonergic drugs)


Drug Interactions

  • CNS depressants (e.g., benzodiazepines, alcohol): Increased sedation and risk of respiratory depression

  • MAO inhibitors, SSRIs, and SNRIs: Risk of serotonin syndrome

  • Other paracetamol-containing medications: Risk of liver toxicity

  • Anticonvulsants and antidepressants: May increase seizure risk

When Not to Use

  • Hypersensitivity to tramadol or paracetamol

  • Acute alcohol intoxication

  • Severe respiratory depression

  • Uncontrolled epilepsy

  • Patients taking MAO inhibitors

Precaution

  • Not suitable for patients with a history of drug abuse or addiction

  • Use with caution in elderly patients, those with hepatic/renal dysfunction, and patients prone to seizures

  • Monitor closely for signs of overdose or abuse
