How It Works

Reltus Cough Expectorant is a combination syrup that provides multi-symptom relief:

  • Ammonium Chloride acts as an expectorant, thinning mucus for easier expulsion.

  • Ephedrine HCl is a bronchodilator and nasal decongestant, easing breathing.

  • Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine that relieves runny nose, sneezing, and throat irritation.

  • Honey provides a natural soothing effect, coating the throat and reducing irritation and coughing.


 Usage and Safety

Dosage:

  • Adults & Children (above 12 years): 1–2 teaspoons (5–10 mL) 3 times a day

  • Children (6–12 years): 1 teaspoon (5 mL) 2–3 times a day

  • Shake well before use. Use only as directed by a physician.

Side Effects:

  • Drowsiness

  • Dry mouth

  • Headache

  • Restlessness or nervousness (from Ephedrine)

  • Upset stomach

  • Rare: Allergic reactions or palpitations

Reltus Expectorant is indicated for the symptomatic relief of:

 When Not to Use

Avoid if you have:

  • Allergy to any listed ingredient

  • Severe heart disease, hypertension, or thyroid issues

  • Used MAO inhibitors within the last 14 days

  • Age under 6 years, unless specifically prescribed

Precautions

  • Contains honey – use with caution in children under 1 year

  • May cause drowsiness – avoid operating heavy machinery

  • Use cautiously in asthma, diabetes, or cardiovascular conditions

  • Avoid alcohol or other sedatives while taking this syrup

Warnings
