Folic Acid is a form of Vitamin B9 essential for red blood cell formation, DNA synthesis, and cell growth. It helps prevent certain types of anemia and is crucial in early pregnancy to reduce the risk of neural tube defects in the developing baby.
Dosage:
Adults (for deficiency): 5 mg once daily or as directed by a physician
Pregnancy support: Often started before conception and during the first trimester
Take with or without food
Side Effects:
Usually well-tolerated
Rare: Nausea, bloating, rash, bitter taste
Very rare: Allergic reaction or sleep disturbance
Folic Acid 5mg is used for:
Megaloblastic anemia due to folate deficiency

Do not use if you have:
Known hypersensitivity to folic acid
Undiagnosed anemia without confirming folate deficiency
Pernicious anemia unless vitamin B12 is also supplemented
Long-term high-dose use may mask vitamin B12 deficiency
Regular monitoring is recommended in patients with epilepsy or renal issues
Consult your doctor before combining with other supplements or medications
Warning 1: Can mask signs of B12 deficiency, which may cause irreversible nerve damage
