Cipocain combines two active ingredients:
Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that eliminates bacteria by inhibiting their DNA replication.
Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that numbs the ear canal and provides pain relief by blocking nerve signals.
Together, they treat ear infections and provide quick relief from associated ear pain.
Dosage:
Adults & children (as prescribed): Usually 3–4 drops in the affected ear twice daily for 5–7 days
Lie down with affected ear facing up for a few minutes after application
Do not touch the dropper tip or allow it to touch the ear or other surfaces
Side Effects:
Temporary burning or stinging
Ear discomfort or mild irritation
Rare: Dizziness, skin rash, allergic reaction
Prolonged use may result in fungal overgrowth or antibiotic resistance
Cipocain Ear Drops are used for:
Acute otitis externa (swimmer’s ear)
Painful bacterial ear infections
Post-procedural ear discomfort
Ear infections requiring both antibiotic and anesthetic relief
Avoid using Cipocain if:
You have a perforated eardrum
The infection is viral or fungal
Known allergy to ciprofloxacin, lidocaine, or related drugs
Children under 1 year, unless advised by a doctor
For otic use only (not for eyes or oral use)
Use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women
Avoid water exposure (swimming or bathing) while treating ear infection
Do not use beyond the prescribed duration
Warning 1: Prolonged use can lead to drug resistance or secondary fungal infections
Warning 2: May mask worsening infection if not monitored properly
Warning 3: Do not use in ruptured eardrum unless specifically advised
