 How It Works

Betamethasone Sodium Phosphate is a potent corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation, swelling, redness, and irritation. It works by inhibiting multiple inflammatory cytokines and suppressing the immune response in the targeted area (eyes, ears, or nose), helping relieve discomfort and promote healing in inflammatory conditions.

Usage and Safety

Dosage:

  • Eyes: 1–2 drops in affected eye(s) 2–4 times daily

  • Ears: 2–3 drops in affected ear 2–3 times daily

  • Nose (if advised): 1–2 drops in each nostril up to twice daily

  • Always follow your doctor’s instructions

  • Do not touch the dropper tip to avoid contamination

Side Effects:

  • Blurred vision (after eye use)

🚫 When Not to Use

Do not use if you have:

  • Fungal, viral, or tuberculosis-related infections in eyes, ears, or nose

  • Corneal ulcer or perforated eardrum

  • Glaucoma or uncontrolled eye pressure

  • Hypersensitivity to corticosteroids

⚠️ Precautions

  • Use for short-term only unless prescribed for longer

  • Not for self-medication—misuse can worsen infections

  • Avoid use in children unless strictly advised

  • Regular intraocular pressure monitoring is recommended during prolonged use

⚠️ Warnings

  • Warning 1: Prolonged use in the eye can cause glaucoma or cataracts
